Hosted
by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA), the
largest machine tool exhibition in Taiwan, the Taiwan International Machine
Tool Show (TMTS) 2024, officially opened today for a five-day extravaganza. The
event has gathered the leading innovations and technologies in the industry,
attracting over 600 exhibitors to participate. The German Trade Office Taipei
(GTO), along with its service unit, DEinternatioanl Taiwan Ltd., has organized
a “German Pavilion,” the largest single-country exhibition area in this year's
machine tool show, with 23 top German companies participating. To enhance
visitors' understanding of the exquisite craftsmanship of "Made in
Germany," two forums will be held at the stage 101 during the exhibition
to discuss applications in the plastics and rubber industries and the Issue of machine
tools crossing into high-tech industries. Additionally, eight German exhibitors
will share their products on site.
Mr.
Axel Limberg, the Chief Representative and Executive Director of GTO, stated,
"German companies have a long-standing reputation for innovation and
quality, and high-quality machine tools and equipment are indispensable to the
industry. This year's TMTS focuses on digital transformation and green
transformation, showcasing the digital achievements and sustainable products of
German enterprises to the world. We are eager to see the industrial exchanges
between Taiwan and Germany on machine tools and look forward to sparking more
collaborations at the event."
This
year, the German Pavilion will showcase a diverse range of products and
services, including metal cutting machine tools, metal forming machine tools,
various machine tool components and accessories, as well as control systems and
smart manufacturing systems. This includes industrial robots, 3D printing
technology, and other equipment, materials, and technologies related to machine
tools. German exhibitors also demonstrate their leadership in technology and
innovation in this field by developing new materials or innovative components
aimed at achieving carbon reduction and high efficiency for sustainable goals.
Through this exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to experience these
cutting-edge technologies firsthand and engage with industry experts.
In
addition, in line with this year's theme of "DX & GX for a Sustainable
Future," the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW) and the
German Engineering Federation (VDMA) were invited to Taiwan and partnered with
the organizers to set up a umati (universal machine technology interface) zone.
This marks the first time umati has been exhibited in Taiwan, with a total of
26 tool machine and component manufacturers, legal entities, and schools
participating. umati represents a universal specification for machinery, aiming
to establish a global standard that allows various equipment from different
industries to connect on a single platform, simplifying and facilitating the
transfer of data between machine tools, 3D printers, and product management
systems, and presenting an intelligent ecosystem across fields.
