Collision protection is a major topic at HEIDENHAIN. The touch probes feature a large deflection path and offer additional safety with rated breaking points in the stylus or the connecting pin to the probe contact.
The TS 460 and TT 460 touch probes feature intelligent battery management in order to minimize current consumption. The touch probe switches in steps to the stand by condition: The longer a touch probe has been switched off, the less current it consumes. Activating a touch probe from a low standby level takes only a split second longer. This ensures high, application oriented availability.

ROTEX® GS is a three-part coupling, backlash-free under pre-stress. The different hub designs and the different Shore hardnesses offer the optimal coupling for each application in automation engineering. In spite of its vibration-damping characteristics it is torsionally stiff so that it is not necessary to make any concessions to accuracy even with highly dynamic servo drives. TECAFORM AH natural acetal is an unfilled porosity free POM-C with a unique balance of physical properties not available in most other thermoplastics. This copolymer acetal is an engineering plastic made for wide-ranging universal applications in many different industries. The key performance characteristics of unmodified POM copolymer include high mechanical strength and rigidity, excellent wear, low moisture absorption and excellent dimensional stability. Unfilled POM-C copolymer is manufactured by Ensinger under the tradename TECAFORM AH natural, and offers high crystallinity and a good degree of toughness (even in the lower temperature range), combined with good chemical resistance.
